Artist's Bio
Since I began painting both for pleasure and professionally my style
has constantly changed to suit the times.
From early childhood when I made my first visit to an African gallery
and absorbed the wonderful creations by the artist, I was hooked. I
loved the play of light on the faces of the characters in the
portrait.
I quickly developed my own style of painting. Portraits and the human
body appealed to me but not so much realism did not. I can now safely
say that my style is unlike any other. I do not shy away from colour,
I like my colours bold and vibrant but do not concentrate so much on
the details of the paintings but rather the impression that it makes.
My inspiration comes mainly from my life and the culture that I live
in. I do a few traditional pieces landscapes and such but my passion
is capturing urban scenes and lifestyle. I see beauty and poetry in
the ghettos that many shun.
