Sunday, February 7th, 2010

The art gallery is hosted at Imagekind.com

It includes 14 paintings including the ‘Bling Art’ collection which is very urban and modern. Mostly consisting of portraits, it shows people with outsized and loud jewellery or bejewed items of clothing with the jewels being diamonds hence the bling!

The second gallery consists of 43 designs. All repetitive designs, floral, abstract and ethnic images that make beautiful prints.

The third gallery consists of 19 illustrations of high quality vector images. The subjects vary from design oriented illustrations to more complex people based illustrations.

Artist’s Statement

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Since I began painting both for pleasure and professionally my style has constantly changed to suit the times.

From early childhood when I made my first visit to a gallery and absorbed the wonderful creations by the artists, I was hooked. I loved the play of light on the faces of the characters in the portrait.

I quickly developed my own style of painting. Portraits and the human body appealed to me but not so much realism did not. I can now safely say that my style is unlike any other. I do not shy away from colour, I like my colours bold and vibrant but do not concentrate so much on the details of the paintings but rather the impression that it makes.

Animated vector imagesMy inspiration comes mainly from my life and the culture that I live in. I do a few traditional pieces landscapes and such but my passion is capturing urban scenes and lifestyle. I see beauty and poetry in the ghettos that many shun.
